This 12-hour, accredited ON DEMAND training is intended to provide a practical utilization of cosmetic ingredients to build the best formula, meeting pre-established objectives and expected outcome. We will explore:
– Relationship of structure-function-application-benefits
– Practical understanding of classes of cosmetic ingredient and their key benefits and applications
– Generation of a better understanding of the contributions of ingredients to the performance of finished product formulations
When developing consumer cosmetic formulation,
(1) ingredient knowledge plays a big role in understanding how to construct the formulation,
(2) best practices for incorporating the ingredients into the formula, and
(3) what benefits might be achieved with the right selection of ingredients.
To do this we will explore the anatomy of a formula by looking at classes of ingredients and understanding their structure, physical properties, and attributes they possess. We will explore ingredients associated with consumer categories associated with: Moisturizers, Humectants, Emollients, Polymers, Functional Siloxanes, Surfactants/Cleansers, Preservatives, Skin Lightening/Darkening Agents, Sunscreens, Hair Fixatives, Depilatory Agents, Hair Frizz Control Agents, Antiperspirants/Deodorants, Caramel/Charcoal, and Skin/Hair Conditioners.
We will explore incorporation of cosmetic ingredients various applications, including skin care, hair care, underarm odor/wetness control, hair/face cleansers, nail coatings, sensitive skin, self-tanning, sun care. Within this realm, we will also explore natural and sustainability, innovative thinking, marketing technical brief development, stability, INCI and back label, and claim support. Safety and global regulations are also important, so we will show how to understand the safety and regulatory boundaries of ingredients using PCPCs RMIF (Raw Material Information Form) template., This 12-hour, accredited training is intended to provide a practical utilization of cosmetic ingredients to build the best formula, meeting pre-established objectives and expected outcome.
