Underarm actives for wetness (antiperspirants) and odor control (Deodorants and Deo-Colgnes) continue to evolve as consumer grooming habits change, global regulations impact what can be sold to consumers, and changing emotive perceptions of safety and acceptable actives tied in with new scientific information about safety. This was demonstrated in the 1970’s with the banning of fluorocarbons, perception about absorption of aluminum into the blood stream in the 1980- 1990’s morphed underarm grooming from antiperspirants to deodorants, global restrictions being placed upon volatile cyclosiloxanes such as D4 and D5, and now with the push for more natural products (specifically not containing aluminum.

This entire 4-part series will provide a comprehensive review of the fundamental aspects of antiperspirants and deodorants.

Part 2 of the series will explore and offer a better understanding of the chemistry of sweat reducing actives and odor pathway disruption to achieve improved efficient delivery of these actives and ingredients to the axilla area.

For maximum training benefit, it is recommended that participants attend the entire series. However, each part of the series is a stand-alone course which will offer significant training on that specific topic of interest.

Part 1  Basics of Underarm Physiology, Actives Classification,

Evolving Marketing Needs, Global Regulations

Part 3 – Delivery Systems and Commercial Analysis

Part 4 – Green Technology for Wetness and Odor Control

This Antiperspirants and Deodorants three-part webinar series will present a comprehensive review of the technology, global regulatory concerns, application and formulation insights, and trends. It will be especially valuable to those working with cosmetic/toiletry products focused on antiperspirants (wetness control) and deodorant (odor control) applications, as well as to those in industry and research laboratories interested in a basic understanding of the technologies, clinical aspects, and application of these products.

The training is intended for entry and mid-level development technologists and is an up-to-date refresher for experienced individuals. Chemists, microbiologists, analytical scientists and process engineers from the fields of cosmetics, toiletries, pharmaceuticals, bioengineering and food will also benefit from the opportunity to understand more about regulations, formulations and process parameters for an FDA regulated product.,This Antiperspirants and Deodorants 4-part webinar series will present a comprehensive review of the technology, global regulatory concerns, application and formulation insights, and trends.
