Fragrance is an essential component of most personal care products and is frequently a key differentiator between competitive brands. Understanding how fragrances work in products is necessary for success, and knowledge of possibilities for greener and more sustainable products is a critical factor in developing future products.
This 90-minute accredited course will consider aroma chemicals, ways to make them greener, and how to use computer models to predict properties like biodegradation and aquatic toxicity. Analytical properties of fragrance, fragrance duplication and the physical chemistry of fragrance solutions are keys to achieving fragrance goals in the laboratory.
Most personal care products contain fragrance. Attendees will learn how to translate fragrance aesthetics into emulsion and surfactant systems and evaluate stability issues.
